FAQ's

What do I need to bring?

An open mind, deep breath and a open mind! We want your experience to be a positive one your health and fitness but we know it is often a matter or over coming the 'Shall I go saga?!" All of the classes here are friendly and inclusive with knowledgeable and experience instructors that want to support you on your wellness journey.

It may be a good idea to bring water with you (there is a toilet on site), we do work hard and it is wise to come to class already hydrated. If you are coming to do Pilates, particularly reformer then you may want to bring some grippy pilates socks - the kids trampoline park socks will do nicely! Please don't fret if you don't have any, we have grippy pads to assist you before committing to your purchase. If you are attending a mat based session then we ask you please bring your own yoga or Pilates mat. We do have spares but just to promote hygiene.

What do I wear?

Comfortable 'sports' type clothes that allow you to move and flow. Yoga is practiced barefoot and pilates generally either barefoot or in pilates socks.

If you are using the Pilates Reformer then please wear grippy pilates socks if you have them - a great idea is to borrow your children's trampoline park socks until you decide if you want to purchase your own as they work just as well.  Please do not worry if you don't have any for your first session

Workshops may encourage different attire as there is often less movement during other forms of practice so the need to be a little warmer during the session.  This is made known to you at time of booking.

Do you provide mats / equipment?

We do have mats but please note these may be shared by many. For all classes, we will provide the small equipment but we will ask you to sanitise at the end of your session. If you attend a class regularly and you know we use hand weights etc for that particular class, then you will always be encouraged to bring your own should you wish and where possible.

Some 'props' may be required for workshop sessions such a blanket or pillow as they aid your practice but you will be advised of this at time of booking.

Polite notice regarding yoga mat etiquette:

It's a polite warning really but one to consider carefully ... Never Step on Someone Else’s Yoga Mat - there is a reason these peeps come to calm! This will set you up wherever you choose to practice as most serious yoga practitioners consider their yoga mat to be a sacred space, not just a piece of exercise equipment. They tend to have a very intimate relationship with their practice, and the mat is the physical location where that practice takes place. So it can be seen as disrespectful if you step on someone else’s yoga mat.

Are the classes ALL levels?

We welcome all levels to come and try out a class - we've all got to start somewhere, right? If you are brand new to reformer or are just starting back out after a period of sedentary living then you may want to consider some private sessions to help prepare you for the class environment although not compulsory. It's all about your personal journey, we will encourage but always advise  you to take the “do what you can and what feels good” philosophy. Modifications and options will be offered to suit all levels and at times,  'hands on adjustments' may be needed (please let your instructor know if this outside your comfort zone and of course this is only applicable outside of any Covid-19 protocols for social distancing . But please expect to work .. these classes are intended to be of the physical variety so you will move and groove into challenges if you seek them.
